Is Ekly Capture really free?

Yes. Every feature is free including screenshots, screen recording, annotation, and sharing. Paid plans only add more cloud storage. There are no watermarks and no features locked behind a paywall.

Do I need an account to use Ekly Capture?

You need to sign in with Google to save captures to the cloud and get shareable links. If you just want to save to your device, you can do that without an account.

Does the extension record my screen in the background?

No. The extension never captures your screen in the background. It only records when you actively start a capture or recording. It does not track your browsing activity or read the content of pages you visit.

Where are my captures stored?

Captures saved to the cloud are stored securely in your Ekly account. They are private by default and only accessible to you. Share links use a random address that cannot be guessed. You can delete any capture at any time.

What is the difference between free and paid plans?

Cloud storage. Free gives you 500MB, Basic gives you 3GB, and Pro gives you 10GB. All features work on every plan. Saving to your device is always free and unlimited regardless of plan.
