Free online PDF tools with no account required

Ekly PDF Tools is a free collection of eleven PDF utilities that run entirely in your browser. Merge multiple PDF files into one document, split a PDF into separate pages or page ranges, rotate incorrectly oriented pages, add watermarks, delete unwanted pages, reorder pages, add page numbers, convert images to PDF, extract text, password protect, and remove passwords from PDFs you own. No account is required for any tool and no files are stored after processing completes.

All PDF processing happens server-side using a secure pipeline. Your file is uploaded, processed, and the result is sent directly back to your browser. Files are not retained after the operation finishes. For documents containing sensitive or confidential information, nothing persists on any server after your download begins.

Merge PDF files online for free

The PDF merge tool combines two or more PDF files into a single document in any order you choose. Upload up to 20 files, each up to 50MB, drag them into the correct order, and download the merged result in seconds. This is one of the most common PDF tasks in professional environments and is needed constantly when consolidating reports, combining signed contracts with cover letters, assembling multi-section documents, or gathering scanned pages into a single file for submission.

Merged PDFs download as a single file with all pages in the order you specified. The original files are not modified. Page numbering, formatting, images, and embedded fonts from each source document are preserved in the merged output.

Split PDF and extract page ranges

The PDF split tool extracts a specific range of pages from a document and saves them as a new PDF. Upload your file, specify the from-page and to-page numbers, and download the extracted section. This is useful when you need to share only a portion of a large report, extract individual invoices from a combined statement, separate chapters from a long document, or divide a multi-section PDF into standalone files for different recipients.

    Rotate PDF pages

Documents scanned at the wrong orientation are a common frustration. The rotate tool corrects pages that are sideways or upside down without affecting any other aspect of the document. Upload your PDF, select the pages you want to rotate by clicking the page thumbnails, choose the rotation direction and angle, and download the corrected file. You can rotate all pages at once or select individual pages to rotate independently. Rotation options are 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees counterclockwise, and 180 degrees.

Add a watermark to a PDF

The watermark tool stamps diagonal text across every page of a PDF. Type your watermark text, upload your document, and download the watermarked result. Common uses include marking documents as Confidential, Draft, For Review Only, or Sample before distributing them externally. The watermark appears on every page at a consistent position, size, and opacity. Watermarking a document before sharing it discourages unauthorised reproduction and makes the document's status clear to anyone who receives it.

    Delete pages from a PDF

The delete pages tool removes specific pages from a document without affecting the rest of the content. Upload your PDF, click the page thumbnails to mark the pages you want to remove, and download the result. This is useful for removing blank pages at the end of a scanned document, stripping out a cover page before forwarding, or removing confidential pages before sharing a document with a broader audience. The remaining pages retain their original content and formatting.

    Reorder PDF pages

The reorder tool lets you rearrange the pages of a PDF into any order by dragging page thumbnails. This is useful when a document was assembled in the wrong sequence, when pages from a scan came out in the wrong order, or when you want to restructure an existing PDF without recreating it from scratch. Upload your PDF, drag the thumbnails into the correct order, and download the reorganised document.

Add page numbers to a PDF

The page numbers tool inserts sequential page numbers into a PDF at a position of your choice. Choose from bottom centre, bottom left, bottom right, top centre, top left, or top right. You can also set the starting number, which is useful when a document is part of a larger set and needs to continue from a specific page number. Page numbers are added to every page and the result downloads immediately.

    Convert images to PDF

The images to PDF tool converts JPG, PNG, and WebP image files into a single PDF document. Each image becomes one page. Upload up to 50 images, each up to 20MB, arrange them in the correct order, and download the resulting PDF. This is useful for converting scanned documents that were saved as individual image files, combining product photos into a single shareable document, or creating a PDF presentation from a series of images without specialist software.

    Extract text from a PDF

The extract text tool pulls all readable text from a text-based PDF and downloads it as a plain text file. This works on PDFs that contain actual text content rather than scanned images of text. Use cases include extracting content for editing in a word processor, pulling data from a PDF for import into a spreadsheet, or copying large amounts of text that cannot be selected and copied from the PDF viewer directly. The extracted text file downloads with the same name as the source PDF.

    Password protect and unlock PDFs

The protect tool adds a password to any PDF so that recipients must enter the password before the document can be opened. The unlock tool removes the password from a PDF you own by entering the current password, producing an unprotected version of the file. Both tools are useful in environments where PDF documents contain sensitive information and access needs to be controlled.
